MARCO CAIAZZA was born in Naples in 1976 and began to study the guitar very early with his father. He graduating “cum laude” at the Conservatory of his city and later he got the Second Level Academic Diploma with honours at the Conservatory “Martucci”, Salerno.
After winning many international competitions, he began an intense career as a concert artist, together with composing and arranging.
In 2016, the record company dotGuitar published his first CD, “Medallón Antiguo”, dedicated to the Paraguayan guitarist-composer Agustín Barrios-Mangoré.
Specialised critics have soon successfully welcomed the CD. Moreover, it won the prestigious prize “Golden Guitar for the best CD of the year” during the 22th International Guitar Convention of Alessandria. The same CD has been published in 2017 by the magazine SEICORDE, for the collection “I Maestri della Chitarra”.

In 2017 Ut Orpheus Edizioni published, in two volumes, his revision of the complete Studies and Preludes by Agustín Barrios-Mangoré.
In the same year he published his second CD, “Agustín Barrios - complete Studies and Preludes”, for the record label PVR (5 stars on the Magazines MUSICA and SEICORDE).

In 2019 he published, as a composer and performer, his third album, “Remembrance” (PVR), immediately welcomed with interest and enthusiasm by specialized critics (5 stars on the Magazines SEICORDE and GUITART).

In 2020 the record label PVR published the EP, “Moon”, with his original compositions for piano and the CD, “Marco Caiazza plays Bach”, with his transcriptions published by Volontè & Co. Editions.

Considered by lady Susana Walton, wife of the famous English composer William Walton, “one of the best performers of the Five Bagatelles for guitar”, he took part in the recording of a Video-Documentary for the Walton Foundation and he performed at Ischia in the “Friends of the Philarmonia Orchestra”, a concert realized under the auspices of the London Philarmonia Orchestra.
He recorded for Radio3 Rai and performed in important International Festivals, like the Gliwice Guitar Festival, Poland and Evmelia International Music Festival, Greece.

In 2021 the scientific committee of the International Guitar Conference in Milan awarded him the prestigious “Golden Guitar for Teaching” award, in recognition of the numerous achievements of his students in the international field.
In 2023 he released his fifth album for solo guitar, “Essential” (PVR), with music by Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Ponce, Tansman and Rodrigo.
He currently teaches guitar at the “E. R. Duni” Conservatory of Music in Matera.

MARCO CAIAZZA nasce a Napoli nel 1976 e inizia giovanissimo lo studio della chitarra classica con il padre. Consegue il Diploma con il Massimo dei Voti e la Lode presso il Conservatorio di Musica “S. Pietro a Majella” di Napoli e successivamente il Diploma Accademico di Secondo Livello - indirizzo solistico - con 110 e Lode presso il Conservatorio di Musica
“G. Martucci” di Salerno.
Dopo aver vinto numerosi concorsi internazionali, intraprende un’intensa attività concertistica alternandola a quella di compositore.
Nel 2016 l’etichetta discografica dotGuitar pubblica il suo primo album, “Medallón Antiguo”, dedicato al chitarrista-compositore paraguaiano Agustín Barrios-Mangoré. Il disco è accolto da subito con entusiasmo dalla critica specializzata e gli vale il prestigioso premio “Chitarra d’oro per il miglior disco dell’anno” al XXII Convegno Internazionale di Chitarra di Alessandria.
Lo stesso album viene pubblicato nel 2017 dal Magazine SEICORDE, per la collana “I Maestri della Chitarra”.

Lo stesso anno pubblica l'EP “Moon” (PVR), eseguendo sue composizioni originali per pianoforte.
Considerato da Lady Susanna Walton, moglie del celebre compositore inglese William Walton, “...uno dei migliori esecutori delle Five Bagatelles per chitarra...”, partecipa nel 2000 alla registrazione di un Video-Documentario per la Fondazione Walton e si esibisce nel 2001 ad Ischia nel “Friends of the Philarmonia Orchestra”, un concerto patrocinato dalla Philharmonia Orchestra di Londra.
Ha registrato per Radio3 Rai e ha suonato per importanti Festival Internazionali come il Gliwice Guitar Festival a Gliwice, in Polonia, e l’Evmelia International Music Festival in Grecia.

Le sue interpretazioni del “Concierto de Aranjuez” per Chitarra e Orchestra di Joaquin Rodrigo, eseguito presso prestigiose sale da concerto, sono state sempre accolte da unanimi consensi di critica e pubblico.

Nel 2021 il comitato scientifico del Convegno Internazionale di Chitarra di Milano gli conferisce il prestigioso premio “Chitarra d’Oro per la Didattica”, a riconoscimento delle numerose affermazioni dei suoi allievi in campo internazionale.
Nel 2023 pubblica il suo quinto album per chitarra sola, “Essential” (PVR), con musiche di Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Ponce, Tansman e Rodrigo.
Attualmente è docente di chitarra presso il Conservatorio di Musica “E. R. Duni” di Matera.
